Subject: Nelson's Sharp-tailed Sparrow

This sparrow was seen again at 7:30 a.m. Oct 16 (Thursday). Call the
Victoria RBA at 250-592-3381 for updates. Birders looking for this bird
are asked to use the "Birder's Loop" which is accessed about 100 meters
south of Viaduct Avenue. Signs there ask people to stay on the trails,
but similar signage has not yet been installed on the mudflats accessed
opposite Viaduct Avenue, so some birders are walking the mudflats in an
area which is meant to be set aside as sensitive habitat, and is
protected by a conservation covenant (easement for you Washingtonians).

A first Victoria record - and lots of other migrants too.

Thanks for your consideration
