Maybe they didn't find what they were looking for at Northgate: I saw six just southwest of Northgate/I-5 at 4:10 p.m. on the 8th, just above treetop level.

Yesterday (8 October) I saw three Turkey Vultures just west of I-5 at
Southcenter, King County, at about 5:45 pm. They were flying at treetop
level, so I assume they were trying to find a roosting place. These are the
first vultures I've seen in almost 14 years of commuting from Seattle to
Tacoma and back.
