Hi Tweets:

A flock of 60-70 Snow Geese were seen flying south over Spencer Island on
Sunday, Oct. 12, during a Seattle Audubon field trip. We wondered if they were
being "blown" beyond their destination. I have records back to 1996 for
Spencer Island and have not see Snow Geese previously. A Merlin was seen and scoped
several times as it worked the Long-billed Dowitcher flock. No catches were
observed. Both an adult and immature Peregrine Falcon were also scoped.
These two birds had a very feisty and noisy aerial interaction. The peregrines
worked the dowitcher flock and rafts of ducks on Spencer Island. Again, no
successful catches were seen. 48 species total on a dry but very windy day.
