Early this afternoon, while cruising north from Vashon on a King County
research boat, I spotted two dark northern fulmars: one was off of Lincoln
Park in mid channel, and another well west of downtown. Our boat approached
both quite closely, and the birds were inadvertently flushed as we ran
north. I think it was this time of year that I photographed one in Lake
Union: Nov 4, 2002.
