I don't expect to see many Western Meadowlark when I'm out birding therefore
it's unexpected when I do see them here in western Washington. A half-dozen
were seen on Thursday, Oct. 9, during an East Lake Washington Audubon field
trip. Some meadowlarks serenaded us with their lovely song. On Tuesday, Oct.
14, I saw 3 Western Meadowlark in the uncut grasses at Snoqualmie Ridge Golf
Club. These grasses are cut once a year in October or November.
