Speaking of lone Heermann's Gulls, I cartooonized a photo I took today at
Esquimalt Lagoon BC, where one individual was in unusual company. The image

Subject: 2nd winter Heermann's Gull

Hello!

This morning I saw a Heermann's Gull in second winter plumage at the
Mukilteo Lighthouse Park and thought the sighting might be of interest to
Tweeters since I don't usually see Heermann's Gulls at the park. I have
seen them on Whidbey Island before. This one was quite friendly and I was
able to walk within three feet of where it perched....waiting for treats
with the rest of the gulls. Alas, I had no treats with me this time. This
individual was small, but very handsome, I thought! There was also much
newly deposited driftwood on the beach!!

Cheers! Judy
