Vancouver and North Vancouver.

Rare Bird Alert continues for the WESTERN SCRUB JAY.

Sightings for October 26

The WESTERN SCRUB JAY was continues at 4126 River Rd. W in Ladner. This
house is west of 41B & River Rd. Birders may access the property on the
left hand side of the property. Proceed to the back of the property to view
the bird.

Upwards of 12 MARBLED GODWITS were reported from the Tsawwassen Ferry Jetty.
Some sighted at the base of the Jetty others at the compensation lagoon.
The WILLET was seen at the base of the Jetty.

A PACIFIC GOLDEN-PLOVER was observed at the base of the Roberts Bank Jetty.

A BARRED OWL was reported from Vancouver's Queen Elizabeth Park.

A SNOW BUNTING was seen near the second shelter on the Iona Jetty. At the
tip was a COMMON TERN.

October 25

The WESTERN SCRUB JAY was at it's usual location at 4126 River Rd. W.

The HUDSONIAN GODWIT was observed around 10:15 at the foot of the Tsawwassen
Jetty on the mud flats on the north side in the company of 5 MARBLED
GODWITS.

A BLUE JAY was sighted around 8:00 AM at Point Roberts' Lighthouse Marine
Park. Also seen at this location was an immature HEERMANN'S GULL.

At the Mansion on Boundary Bay were 2 SHARP-TAILED SANDPIPERS. In a
ploughed filed between 88th & the mansion were the 4 AMERICAN GOLDEN-PLOVERS
along with 1 PACIFIC GOLDEN-PLOVER and Golden-Plover of undetermined
species.

October 24

The HUDSONIAN GODWIT was observed with 7 MARBLED GODWITS at the Tsawwassen
Ferry Jetty's Compensation Lagoon. Also present were 4 CASPIAN TERNS, 3
adults and a juvenile.

In a field between 88th and the Mansion were 7 Golden-Plovers consisting of
4 AMERICAN, 1 PACIFIC and one of undetermined species.

At Blackie Spit was a LESSER YELLOWLEGS.

October 23

A HUDSONIAN GODWIT was discovered in the company of 6 MARBLED GODWITS at the
Tsawwassen Ferry Jetty's Compensation Lagoon.

The CATTLE EGRET was seen on Westham Island, 2 fields east on Westham Island
Rd.

A NORTHERN SHRIKE was observed along 72nd near OWL. Near 72nd & Hwy 10 was
a ROUGH-LEGGED HAWK.
