A friend told me about finding 6 or 8 beached fulmars at Wickaninnish
Beach (Pacific Rim National Park) a week or so ago, and had some
photographs.

Further to rehabbed seabirds, a rehabber here attempted to release a
Sooty Shearwater which just flopped back onto the beach - obviously not
ready to go. She took it back, and they spent some time really cleaning
its feathers and held onto it a while longer, and next time she
released it, it flew unhesitatingly and directly out to sea. So
sometimes, something works.
