Forgot to mention that this weekend my neighbors were twice visited by a
Great-Blue Heron (though they didn't notice). One day I saw a G/Blue flying
by very low in the neighborhood and I thought it was bizarre. The next day
while working upstairs I saw the bugger circle down and land at the
neighbors' swimming pool! The water is turning green from neglect and I
guess the heron thought it might be a nice new fishing spot. He walked
around the border for a bit, then started towards their back door...now I
started getting a bit worried because they have a very rambunctious young
Doberman! I took some digital photos before opening the window to scare off
the bird before it turned into an afternoon snack.
