Hello, this is the Audubon Society of Portland Rare Bird Report. This report
was made Thursday October 30. If you have anything to add call Harry Nehls

The YELLOW-THROATED WARBLER at Frenchglen continues to be seen. On October
23 a male COMMON GRACKLE was there. The SCISSOR-TAILED FLYCATCHER near Burns
has not been seen during the week. A BLUE JAY is being seen at Cove in the
Grande Ronde Valley.

NORTHERN SHRIKES, ROUGH-LEGGED HAWKS, and TUNDRA SWANS arrived during the
week. Flocks of migrant SANDHILL CRANES were reported flying south over the
Willamette Valley.

On October 26 at least seven WHITE-THROATED SPARROWS were at a Brookings
feeder. A SHARP-TAILED SANDPIPER was on the North Spit of Coos Bay October
26. Among the many migrants off Boiler Bay October 27 was a MANX/B-V.
SHEARWATER and two FRANKLIN?S GULLS. A FRANKLIN?S was at the Necanicum River
mouth in Gearhart October 25. A CLAY-COLORED SPARROW is now coming to a
feeder in Bay City. On October 23 a MOCKINGBIRD was near the Bayocean Spit
parking lot on Tillamook Bay. A PALM WARBLER was there October 25.

A SHARP-TAILED SANDPIPER was seen October 25 at the Fernhill Wetlands in
Forest Grove but it did not remain. A late flock of CLIFF SWALLOWS was at
Jackson Bottom in Hillsboro October 25. A family of three GOLDEN EAGLES have
been at Ward Butte near Brownsville during the week. A PRAIRIE FALCON was at
Fern Ridge Reservoir October 26. On October 27 two RED-NECKED GREBES and a
PACIFIC LOON were on Foster Reservoir near Sweet Home. That day a RED-NECKED
GREBE, five COMMON LOONS, and a SURF SCOTER were on Big Lake in Santiam
Pass.

On October 23 a SURF SCOTER was at Hatfield Lake near Bend, and on October
24 a WHITE-WINGED SCOTER was at Hood River.
