Hi Tweets

As an added incentive to come to this Monday's Washington Ornithological
Society meeting, besides Scott Downes talk on the Sage Thrasher and
meeting friends, the new revised edition of the Washington Bird Finding
Guide has been issued by ABA. This is a cooperative effort between the
Washington Ornithological Society (many of whose members contributed
greatly to the routes covered) and ABA. We have all been waiting
expectantly for it and the wait has been worth it! It is a superb effort
and will provide many hours of great bird finding thoughout our state.
Besides the expanded routes, updated bar graphs of occurence, an
annotated checklist of the birds of Washington state, and sections on
mammals, amphibians, reptiles and dragonflies are included, as well as
an excellent reference section. In addition to the excellent maps that
accompany the ABA guides, additional color and artwork by Tony Angell
can be found throughout the guide.

We will be offering the book at an introductory price of $26.00 at this
Monday's meeting at the Center for Urban Horticulture (doors open at 7
pm), and Hal Opperman the principal editor plans to be there for book
signing. We look forward to seeing you at the meeting.
