Sue and Tweeters,

The information I have gathered so far about development efforts
are as follows:

Website: http://www.parks.wa.gov/plans/lksamm/

Contacts:

Peter Herzog (the project's principal planner)
c/o Washington State Parks and Recreation Commission
P.O. Box 42668
Olympia, WA 98504-2668

email: Peter.Herzog at Parks.Wa.Gov
phone: (360) 902-8652

or

Puget Sound Regional Manager: Steve Hahn at (253)288-2569

The Website has two PDFs, one a summary of the plan and another
dated 10/24/03 announcing the "Preliminary Recommended Plan".

What's dismaying is they mention this has been out for public
input for weeks now, yet I hadn't heard about it until I saw the
Issaquah Press article.

They say comments are welcome by letter, phone, and email over
the "next few weeks" from the public. If anyone can't get to
the website to get the PDF files, let me know.

I haven't digested the documents yet, but maps I have seen suggest
they plan to leave the wild "back end" and riparian areas near
Issaquah Creek untouched.

Carl,

<snip>

I am concerned about the "development" of Sammamish State Park.
I'd like to send comments in the public hearing process. Can you
please let me know when the comment period is, where to send
comments, and any facts you may have regarding the habitat
degradation the development will have.

I appreciate you making me aware of this over Tweeters.
