Also seen but neglected to mention in last message: I had HORNED LARKS at
several spots, but most unusual was the behavior of a group of 8 birds that
flew low southbound over the middle of Curlew Lake's north end August 31.
The birds made a couple attempts to land (!) on the lake's surface, once
where boat ripples offered an apparent, if momentary, edge.
