Note: Finally realized today the the tide marker is at 10 intervals per foot, which makes sense to my engineering side, rather than 12 intervals per foot. I'll have to amend some of my earlier reports.

Just an enjoyable day, marked by seeing one of the juvenile OSPREYS perched preening on the east power tower, while the resident PEREGRINE FALCON perched about 6ft away. I saw no interaction between the two birds while I was outside scanning the river. In my observations, the adult Ospreys rarely perch on the east tower, but at least one of the juvenile birds uses it regularly. Until today, I've only seen it about halfway up the tower. Also spotted the family of adult female and 7 juvenile COMMON MERGANSERS. The young are now nearly as large as the adult.
