Four MARBLED GODWITS were on Heron Lake in Spokane Co WA on 26 Aug according
to Fran Haywood, Joyce Alonso, and Gina Sheridan. To get there, take I-90 to
exit 264 (the exit for Medical Lake on WA 902 [Salnave Road]) and go north 1
mile. The lake is on the east side of the road. WA DeLorme 88, D-3.

Looking for MOUNTAIN QUAIL? Mike and MerryLynn Denny have been seeing lots
of them at the west end of The North Fork John Day River Road in Grant Co,
OR. On 26 Aug they saw 56 birds, 22 in lower Potamus Creek Canyon, Morrow Co
and 34 more along the river road in Grant Co.

A BLACKPOLL WARBLER was seen near Bridgeport Bar in northern Douglas Co WA
on 30 Aug by Dave Beaudette. Here are his directions to the Wells Wildlife
Area on the Bridgeport Bar where the bird was seen: From WA 173 take Grange
Road a short distance to its intersection with Port Road-right here, on the
left side of Grange Road is a parking lot for the Wells Wildlife Area. From
the parking lot, walk north on the access road that starts between 2 signs
that read "No Unauthorized Vehicles Beyond This Sign". Soon you will come to
a 3-way junction with a small white wood structure next to a power pole
where Dave also saw a LINCOLN'S SPARROW and a SWAMP SPARROW. Continue
straight ahead to a 2-way junction. Continue straight ahead, not left to
the large field, but continue past some Russian-olives and straight ahead to
some blue spruces where the bird was seen. WA DeLorme 100, D-3.

A juvy SABINE'S GULL was on the Columbia River near East Wenatchee WA on 30
Aug according to Dave Beaudette.

At Lind Coulee, Grant Co WA on 31 Aug Steve Moldinow, Doug Schonewald, and
Bob Flores would 4 SHORT-BILLED DOWITCHERS. On Monday, 1 Sep, Matthew
Moskwik and his father found a juvy SHORT-BILLED DOWITCHER and a juv. STILT
SANDPIPER at the same location. To reach Lind Coulee take WA 262 west from
WA 17. Turn north on Road M. Just after the bridge and guard rail, turn
right on the dirt road. WA DeLorme 53, A-7.

A SANDERLING was at Mann Lake, east of Lewiston, Nez Perce Co ID on 31 Aug
according to Cam Collins (sp?). Take Powers Avenue east from Thain Road in
the Lewiston Orchards until it dead ends at Mann Lake. ID DeLorme 54, A-1.

Bob Bonds reports several BLACK-NECKED STILTS were on Priest Lake in the
Idaho Panhandle a week ago Sunday for an unusual northern Idaho, west of the
Selkirks, sighting.
