Hello, this is the Audubon Society of Portland Rare Bird Report. This report
was made Thursday September 4. If you have anything to add call Harry Nehls

A winter plumaged male LAWRENCE?S GOLDFINCH is now coming to a feeder in
Roseburg. On August 29 a male PHAINOPEPLA was seen near East 23d. St. in
Florence.

On August 31 a BLACKPOLL WARBLER was at page Springs Campground near Malheur
NWR. The next day one was on the Bayocean Spit at Tillamook Bay. On
September 1 a female CHESTNUT-SIDED WARBLER was at the Indian Ford Crossing
north of Sisters. On the August 30 offshore boat trip out of Newport a SKUA
and a FLESH-FOOTED SHEARWATER were seen.

An AVOCET was at Gold Beach September 3. That day two SNOWY EGRETS were at
New River, south of Bandon. Two BUFF-BREASTED SANDPIPERS and several PACIFIC
GOLDEN-PLOVERS continue to be seen on the North Spit of Coos Bay. Two COMMON
TERNS were at Yaquina Bay August 30. On August 31 a BLACK SWIFT was at
Seaside.

On August 29 an ASH-THROATED FLYCATCHER and an early CLAY-COLORED SPARROW
were at Steigerwald NWR near Washougal. Two STILT SANDPIPERS were on Sauvie
Island August 31. The flock of WHITE PELICANS can still be seen there. A
FERRUGINOUS HAWK spent several days during the week at the Portland Airport..
Four WHITE-FRONTED GEESE were at Ankeny NWR August 31.

On September 3 a group of 24 AVOCETS were at Fern Ridge Reservoir. During
the week five BLACK-CROWNED NIGHT-HERONS, a FORSTER?S TERN, two COMMON
TERNS, and 24 WHITE PELICANS were at Fern Ridge. On August 30 a MARBLE
GODWIT was in the Rogue Valley at Agate Lake near White City.
