Birders,

This morning I birded the Salmon Arm Foreshore area and the Mackay's
Reservoir in Vernon. Despite the date, the weather was smoking hot. It must
have been about 34 degrees in the sun. Birding was pretty good, but the
arrival of a front would certainly bring more stuff in.

>From the foot of Narcisse Road, I walked a couple of kilometers out on the
mudflats to the waters edge. By walking out on the mud the little specks far
out on the shoreline became identifiable.

A walk out to Christmas Island in the heat of the afternoon produced some
good birds, including many waterbirds and a few migrants in the bushes along
the trail.
