There was a great egret in the GRNA south of the animal shelter along the
eastern edge of the GRNA in Kent, across from Web Press Corp. There is a
small public area here where one can view across the fence. Bird was present
from at least 7 AM to 8:30 AM. Not really a rare bird, but may be worth
tracking as a King County record so will record this here

Also of local interest on GRNA were a couple of green herons & 2 dowitchers,
presumably long-billed. These were the only shorebirds I saw in the area,
but water levels have dropped to the point where we may see more shorebird
activity here this fall. I believe the Sullivans had posted regarding this
site earlier as a local shorebirding possibility
