Hi Tweeters,

I had a top notch birding weekend and the frosting on the cake was to see many swifts a swirling around over the Cavanaugh Ponds where I live. I have tried some methods to see where they are going, as in going to likely locations, but nothing. They seem to be in pre roost gathering mode so I don't think they roost too far away. Has anyone successfully tracked them before to find a roost? The only thing I can think of at this point is to get a few folks together with radios and positions to man to find them. I am guesstimating at least 100 are in the batch. I checked my time carefully when they finally moved off west and it was 7:40 pm. About half hour to 45 minutes before the enmass group of Vaux's Swifts I think I saw one White Throated Swift with 2 Vaux's. I admittedly didn't get the best look but I can't think what else it could have been, it was dark (brown underneath) with a white flash on the upper part of the body and the tail was much longer than a Vaux. It !

of those I'm 80% sure moments but not positive, especially since it would be a lifer (as in I haven't seen one before...)
