Hi Tweeters--

I returned to Kent today (11:00 AM to about 1:30 PM) and saw the Great Egret on the far shore of the western-most of the Kent Ponds (Green River Natural Area), viewed best from the observation tower. Most of the other species there were the same as yesterday, with the addition of one flying group of about 20 peeps (Westerns or Leasts).

I went over to the Boeing 59th Ave. ponds, with 2 Greater Yellowlegs, 1 Lesser Yellowlegs, and 2 Western Sandpipers present with the Killdeer, ducks, and Canada Geese. Carol Schulz joined me there and we also saw Green-winged Teal, one Savannah Sparrow, and one Long-tailed Weasel (!), in addition to other waterfowl species and a Great Blue Heron.

In the field at the corner of 196th St. and 68th Ave., we had at least 20 American Pipits, (and probably more with ones that were undoubtedly hidden in the stubby grass and weeds). We parked in the parking lot along the east side of the new building at 6324 S 199th Pl (which is a continuation of 59th Ave as it curves around). The pipits were attracted to the water runoff into the storm drains in the parking lot, and gave good views.

Good birding,
