Hello all,

Either the last week of September or the first week of October I am
likely to be in the Seattle area for a week long business trip. I would
like to do some birding and photography of birds the weekend before and
weekend after the business trip (feel free to visit my bird photography
site if you choose to, it is listed at the bottom of the post). Could
anyone provide me good areas to go around Seattle within an hour or two.
I know Gray's Harbor is a phenomenal place to go but I need some local
knowledge/advice about where else to go that is closer to the Seattle
area. Specifically places where one can get good close views where bird
photography is readily possibly without disturbing the birds themselves
(Places with feeders for sparrows/finches/jays/etc are good).

Species of interest are:

Red-throated Loon
Pacific Loon
Any of the Pelagic birds one can see without a Pelagic trip which I
doubt I'll have time for (Do any of the shearwaters etc come close
enough to shore to see anywhere?)
Brandt's and Pelagic Cormorant
Brant
Harlequin Duck
Long-tailed Duck
Any Scoter
Blue Grouse
White-tailed Ptarmigan
American Golden-Plover
Pacific Golden-Plover
Black Oystercatcher
Black Turnstone
Surfbird
Rock Sandpiper
Sharp-tailed Sandpiper
Red Phalarope
Red-necked Phalarope
Any Jaeger
Any Alcid (Murre's, Guillmots, Murrelets, Auklets, Puffins)
Red-naped and Red-breasted Sapsucker
White-headed Woodpecker (Is this even possible?)
Stellar's Jay and Gray Jays
Clark's Nutcracker
Northwestern Crow
Chestnut-backed Chickadee
Mountain Bluebird
Varied Thrush
