This summer a recently fledged jay was imitating a RTHA beside my suet
feeder. I was surprised that it learned this call so young, and also
wondered if it was being used to keep competitors away from the food
source. Other jays in the neighbourhood are also imitating Cooper's
Hawks (or perhaps Goshawks - not so familiar with the differences).
