Subject: jays and hawks

Once at the group camp at Yosemite Park I was sitting watching a bunch of
brewers blackbirds clean up the crumbs somebody left behind. There was a
sudden hawk scream from the tree above and all the blackbirds scattered. A
stellars jay hopped down, perky attitude and all, screamed again like a
hawk. as if to say, nah nah fooled you, then finished up the rest of the
crumbs. I have been fooled by this more than a few times.
