Twelve TURKEY VULTURES were soaring above Icarus Drive in north
Nanaimo.

Sunday September 07:

Highlights of the Sunday bird walk to the Nanaimo River Estuary in Cedar
were WHITE-CROWNED, SAVANNAH, and SONG SPARROWS.

Saturday September 06:

A GREAT HORNED OWL were spotted by two visitors from England at Neck
Point Park in Nanaimo.

AMERICAN GOLDFINCH and CALIFORNIA QUAIL were seen coming to feeders in
North Qualicum Beach.

Friday September 05:

A GREEN HERON was again seen, along with several BLACK-THROATED GRAY
WARBLERS at Buttertubs Marsh in Nanaimo.

A juvenile SHARP-TAILED SANDPIPER and a WESTERN MEADOWLARK were seen at
the Nanaimo River Estuary in Cedar.

Tuesday September 02:

BLACK-THROATED GRAY WARBLERS have been sighted in back of the 6900 block
of Lantzwood Avenue in lower Lantzville and in the 2400 block of Cross
Road in Nanoose Bay.

Sunday morning bird walks. We meet at the store
located at 6404 Metral Drive at 8:30 am and go to a
different birding location each week for about 2 or 3
hours. Everyone is welcome.
