Hello, I'm wondering if anyone else birds at Interlaken Park? I'm yet to see
anyone else sporting binoculars there, but I'm sure there are more of "us"
out there. I would be interested to compare notes and possibly meet up for a
birding walk at some point.
Birding there is a great lesson in how habitat determines bird population.
Although I live just a few blocks away from the park, I see species there
that never venture into my backyard: pine siskin, towhee, band-tailed
pigeon, song sparrow, to name a few--and the mesmerizing call of the
Swainson thrush in spring/early summer. I was also treated to lots of crow
and flicker adult-juvenile feeding interaction this summer.
Thanks!
