Mary,

I agree with the previous adding a caveat about Russell Link's book: He includes
some invasive non-natives that can destroy our native habitat, such as English
Ivy, and others. I've found it's best to find out about true natives using the
Washington Native Plant Society (and Seattle Audubon has a good list, too) and
then reference Russell Link for more detailed growing info. Native plants are
definitely the way to go because that's what our native wildlife depends on to
survive.
