This book has both plates with standard illustrations and a bunch of
photographs, for each species. This is the first I've seen that is set up
this way, although I've seen field guides that include supplemental
photographs in the back. I wish that more field guides would adopt the
combined illustrations/photos approach, though it would increase the size
and cost a lot.
