Hi Tweets:
Yesterday they unlocked the gates late. At 11:00 I saw someone in the
South viewing tower, so I assume they had been unlocked by then.
Sunday is the one day of the week that the site personnel aren't
working there, and someone from the city probably goofed up. If
personnel are onsite, the gates sometimes are opened early
I had heard about Advo being off limits for parking in the past, but
also had heard that you could still park in there. I don't park there
anymore, and just travel on S 226th (the street that borders GRNRA to
the south) all the way to the west end. Turn right there and park
alongside the road to access the Power Line Trail. Then walk over on
the trail to the right about two blocks to enter the gate and go up
the South Tower.
The area of GRNRA (Kent Ponds) can be seen on a map, pge 685, Thomas
Guide to Metropolitan Puget Sound. The actual Kent Ponds site is
contained in an area south of 212th, and east of Russell Road. KOA
has a campground at the north side of it. 64th Ave is east of it.
There are no special markings on my map to indicate that it is a
natural area.
Yours, Carol Schulz

| We went to the Kent ponds Saturday about 10 am
| the gates were firmly locked. The "summer hours" signs were still
up , but it looks
| like they are not opening these hours this time of the year.
|
| We went over and tried to park at ADVO like we used to. There is
now a chain link
| fence and NO parking signs in their lot.
