September 15th, sponsored in part by Wild Birds Unlimited, with stores in
Vancouver and North Vancouver.

Featured Bird is VESPER SPARROW

Sightings for September 15th

In Aldergrove, at the northeast area of Aldergrove Lake Regional Park in an
area known as Aldergrove Bowl, a VESPER SPARROW was seen. The location is
off of LaFeuvre Road, south of 8th Avenue.

A GREAT-HORNED OWL was seen in Joe Brown Park in Surrey.

At Point Roberts was an AMERICAN KESTREL.

Seen flying over the Richmond West Dyke was a TREE SWALLOW.

In the Grant Narrows area of Pitt Meadows were 4 OSPREYS, 2 TURKEY VULTURES,
a BLACK-THROATED GRAY WARBLER, a PINE GROSBEAK, 8 VAUX'S SWIFTS and 2
BLUE-WINGED TEALS.

September 14th

In a report from late Saturday evening, there was a RED-THROATED PIPIT seen
flying over at the foot of 96th, Boundary Bay. Also in the area were 5
HORNED LARKS, 5 LAPLAND LONGSPURS, an AMERICAN GOLDEN PLOVER and a MARBLED
GODWIT. In this area on Sunday was an AMERICAN GOLDEN PLOVER. At the foot of
104th were 2 RED KNOTS.

At Reifel was a HUDSONIAN GODWIT. Also here were 11 SANDHILL CRANES. There
was a MUTE SWAN near the Westham Island Bridge.

Hovering over a road kill at 100th Street and 144th Avenue in Surrey were 2
TURKEY VULTURES.

September 13th

Between the foot of 104th and 112th, Boundary Bay were a juvenile RUFF, a
juvenile AMERICAN GOLDEN PLOVER and a RED KNOT.

Two SANDHILL CRANES were seen in overflight at Bear Creek Park in Surrey.

In Langley, 2 TURKEY VULTURES and 100 VAUX'S SWIFTS were seen.

For those looking for the GREEN HERON and SOLITARY SANDPIPERS at Burnaby
Lake, try viewing from the lookout tower since the island they were on is
now flooded.
