Tweeters,
12:29pm start: Water level at 9.0ft
12:56pm end: Water level at 8.8ft

A cool southerly breeze riffled the river this noontide, with few species in the area. Of note were the 14 COMMON MERGANSERS that landed in mid-channel, then actively fished toward the goose exclusion area on the west bank: down--all but one; then almost all cork-popped at the same time; and time again, including the laggard from the first dive, which taxi-flew to where the others were. Lots of salmon jumping, too.

Birds seen during this scan included the following:

Double-crested Cormorant
Canada Goose (3)
Mallard (12)
Osprey (3; two adult--one on the west power tower; one on the Hamm Creek nest platform; one juv, which was actively fishing, but then landed on the west tower.)
Killdeer (3)
Glaucous-winged Gull (3)
Rock Pigeon (48)
Belted Kingfisher
American Crow
Song Sparrow
House Finch

May all your birds be identified,
