Quiet today, except for the fish that were jumping and the two guys cruising, fishing, in a Zodiac. One juvenile OSPREY, perched on a crossbar of the Hamm Creek nest site, was eating its catch, and being bothered by what I think, based on flight pattern, were yellowjackets. You know what I mean: that side-to-side flight that a yellowjacket has as it inspects that hamburger that you're about to bite into. Only this time the yj's were checking out the partially devoured fish that the Osprey was attempting to finish. I think the yj's won, because the Osprey left--clutching its catch--within minutes of the time I saw it.

Common Merganser (6; 1 was hunting; 5 were sleeping for most of the time I was "on scan")

No sign of the Peregrine Falcon since Sep 8. Still watching for it, though.
