Sunday Bird Walk: September 21/03, Hemer Provincial Park

Weather: Sunny, cool in the forest about 10? C, calm winds

Observers: Thirty-four Sunday birders.

Highlights: We watched a Red-breasted Sapsucker feeding on an Alder
tree for about ten minutes. A surprise was a Northern Pintail in with
the American Wigeons that we spotted from the viewing tower on the
marsh. On Holden Lake, a flock of Common Mergangers moved in single
file. On point of land jutting into the waters of Holden Lake, we
discovered five Yellow-rumped Warblers fly-catching and frolicking in an
Alder bush.
