Subject: surf scoters on Mowich Lake?

I camped overnight at Mowich Lake Sunday night and yesterday (9/22) around
four in the afternoon my friends and I saw what I'm 90 percent certain were
three male SURF SCOTERS resting and swimming on Mowich Lake offshore near
the Eunice Lake trailhead (west of the campground). I checked the Rainier
bird list and they have a listing for White-winged Scoter under
"accidentals", but no surf scoter. I called the Wilkeson Ranger Station, but
no one else had mentioned the scoters.
Anyone else out there see these birds?
We also heard lots of RED-BREATED NUTHATCHES, saw DARK-EYED JUNCOS, a VARIED
THRUSH, a flock of RED CROSSBILLS, and encountered the ubiquitous GRAY JAYS.
