Hello, this is the Audubon Society of Portland Rare bird Report. This report
was made Thursday September 25. If you have anything to add call Harry Nehls

On September 23 a probable RED-THROATED PIPIT was seen on the North Spit of
Coos Bay. It could not be relocated for verification.

On September 20 a BLACKPOLL WARBLER was at the Siltcoos River mouth south of
Florence. A HUDSONIAN GODWIT was at Tierra Del Mar south of Tillamook
September 21.

Conspicuous migrants during the week included LEWIS?S WOODPECKERS,
VIOLET-GREEN and BARN SWALLOWS, TURKEY VULTURES, and SCRUB-JAYS.
YELLOW-RUMPED WARBLERS and WHITE-CROWNED SPARROWS swarmed through eastern
Oregon.

A juvenile SABINE?S GULL was near the North Jetty of the Siuslaw River
September 19. A SHARP-TAILED SANDPIPER was at the Siuslaw River South Jetty
September 24. The September 20 offshore boat trip out of Newport found a few
RED-NECKED and RED PHALAROPES and a SKUA. An ELEGANT TERN was at Tillamook
Bay September 17. On September 20 a TROPICAL KINGBIRD was at Oysterville,
WA. The next day one was seen at the South Jetty of the Columbia River.

On September 23 a SOLITARY SANDPIPER was on Sauvie Island. A WHITE-FACED
IBIS was at the Vanport Wetlands in North Portland September 19. That day a
RED-NAPED SAPSUCKER was at Mt. Tabor in southeast Portland. On September 18
a SAY?S PHOEBE was in Beaverton. One was at Brownsville September 16.

An adult WESTERN GULL was at the Fernhill Wetlands September 17. Two
RED-SHOULDERED HAWKS are now being seen there. One was at Lost Lake in
Santiam Pass September 22. A RUFF is now being seen at Ankeny NWR.

On September 20 two COMMON TERNS were at the mouth of Hood River and a
FORSTER?S TERN was at the mouth of the Deschutes River. On September 19 an
adult SABINE?S GULL was near the mouth of the John Day River. An AMERICAN
GOLDEN-PLOVER was at Hatfield Lake near Bend September 20. On September 19 a
STILT SANDPIPER was at the Ladd Marsh Wildlife Area near LaGrande.
