This morning (Thursday the 25th), Arden, I and Colene Koeler went to
Ridgefield NWR. We walked the Kiwa trail, found a Great Horned Owl amoung
the usual birds. Quite a few Lincoln Sparrows were noted.

We drove the rest of the River S unit and found 144 GREAT EGRETS on Rest
Lake. It was quite a sight to see that many white birds congregated all
together in one field. Wealso saw several AMERICAN BITTERN out in the open.
As they stood on the short green grass, they were easy to spot. Mixed in
were many Great Blue Heron and Sandhill Crane were seen in various spots in
the unit especially the dry grass fields.
