Eight Sunday birders from Nanaimo went to Victoria for a day of birding
on Thursday September 25. We went to Equimalt Lagoon, Witty?s Tower
Point, Albert Head, East Sooke Regional Park and Goldstream Provincial
Park.
The big highlights were an estimated 3000 Turkey Vultures riding high
above the water on thermals, they were quite far away none the less a
great sight.
Another great find was two Golden Eagles at Goldstream Provincial Park,
high near the top of the cliffs we saw them moving back and forth along
the cliffs and then catching a thermal and they soon disappeared. It was
a good day of birding with the following sixty species.
