Sightings for September 28

The GREAT EGRET continues in Mud Bay at the foot of Francis Ave in downtown
Kelowna (JL). Also in Mud Bay were 22 BONAPARTE'S GULLS (JL).

In Salmon Arm, 2 juv. GREATER WHITE-FRONTED GEESE were seen with numerous
CANADA GEESE from the pier area (DC).

The first ROUGH-LEGGED HAWK of the fall was seen soaring over the Mackay's
Reservoir on the Vernon Commonage (CC,CE). Also here was an adult GOLDEN
EAGLE (CC,CE).

A rather late CINNAMON TEAL was on a small farm pond just W. of Rose's Pond
on the Vernon Commonage (CC,CE) and the pair of WOOD DUCKS have returned to
the Fascieux Ck Marsh on Casorso Road in Kelowna (JL).


Sightings for September 27

In Salmon Arm, a juvenile LITTLE GULL was reported on the 24th (TH). The
bird was observed at lenght, and good field notes were taken as it sat on
the mud to the W. of the pier. Further reports would be appreciated.

The GREAT EGRET continues to be seen in Mud Bay in Kelowna (CC,HV). The bay
is at the foot of Francis Ave in the downtown area. Also in Mud Bay on the
27th was an adult MEW GULL and a winter plumage BONAPARTE'S GULL.


Sightings for September 24

The GREAT EGRET was again present in Mud Bay, at the foot of Francis Ave,
near the Maude Roxby Bird Sanctuary, in Kelowna (HV).

In Salmon Arm, numerous BLACK-BELLIED PLOVERS and one AMERICAN GOLDEN-PLOVER
were seen from the pier. Also seen from the pier was a STILT SANDPIPER, an
imm. PEREGRINE FALCON, a CLARK'S GREBE, 12 SURF SCOTERS and 2 CASPIAN TERNS
(CC).

A WESTERN SANDPIPER and a SEMIPALMATED PLOVER were on the mudflats at the S.
end of Duck Lake, in Kelowna (CC) and an adult GOLDEN EAGLE was seen along
Hwy 97, just S. of Armstrong (CC).
