Yeah, any plant that keeps growing in my gutters--and in my chimney
mortar--doesn't need encouragement by planting intentionally...

My best 'butterfly bushes' are my native mock orange and ocean spray.
The tiger swallowtails adore them, as do the lorquin's admirals (ocean
spray is a larval host), though they aren't as common as tigers in my
neighborhood. And you just can't beat that mock orange scent--much
better than the european flavor one next door (that one doesn't get the
butterflies, either.) I also get mobs of male andrenid bees putting on
a display for the girls.
