I wanted to send in these few observations of spring so far. Last Wednesday, 3/24, I heard my first white-crowned sparrows of the spring, singing on the UW campus near Boat St. and Brooklyn Ave. The drake redhead has been near the UW fish ladder most of the winter; I last saw it a couple of weeks ago on one of our nice days. And I'm pretty sure I saw an osprey at Green Lake on Monday, 3/29, flying east. I saw it from the west swimming beach (where I did swim; new early record for me!)
