12:45pm start - looks as if the water level is rising; few mudflats visible
1:08pm end

Tweeters,
Before I hit the Duwamish, here's some info from the BBC relating to International Dawn Chorus Day, and some great sounds/links/etc: http://www.bbc.co.uk/nature/programmes/radio/dawn_chorus/index.shtml

The wind switched to the north, raising lots of waves on the river, and even a whitecap or two occasionally. The largest flock of MEW GULLS I've seen (96 birds) was at their usual loafing place to the south on what remained of a mudflat. One OSPREY made a couple of passes over Turning Basin #3, and headed upstream, while another was over at Hamm Creek. The PEREGRINE FALCON was high atop the west-bank power tower, seemingly focused on something to the west.

Birds seen during this scan include the following:

Canada Goose
Gadwall (2; a pair)
Mallard
Bufflehead (3; two males, one female)
Common Goldeneye (male)
Osprey (2)
Red-tailed Hawk (soaring way to the northwest)
Peregrine Falcon
Mew Gull (96)
Glaucous-winged Gull (6)
Rock Pigeon (11)
American Crow (2; may be building a nest on one of the buildings here at the Boeing facility)
Black-capped Chickadee
Bushtit (2)
Bewick's Wren
European Starling (40)
Song Sparrow
Red-winged Blackbird
House Finch (2; a pair)

May all your birds, and bird songs, be identified,
