I spent a beautiful Sunday birding the lower Yakima Valley, mostly
from Granger to the Yakama Indian Reservation. The highlights had to
be the large number of some birds that recently arrived in the valley
I counted 175 DUNLIN on the flooded pasture at mile post 8 on
Pumphouse Rd. and 26 GREATER YELLOWLEGS (couldn't make any of them
into lessers) on Lateral "C" Rd. and 16 BLACK-NECKED STILT on the
observation pond at the Toppenish NWR.

Also watched the OSPREY pair on Indian Church Rd. busily adding
sticks to the nest, won't be long now till they start brooding.
