I have a mate who developed this software for bird identification, Marty
Michener who owns and operates mist Software, has had this little gem in the
pipeline well before Thayer and their birding software cronies got a grip on
the CD-Rom market. Enjoybirds was developed over eight years of full time,
unpaid work, by Marty. First, in 1996, they tried to interest their old
alum Cornell Lab of O in the product, but everyone there "just didn't have
to time to arrange a meeting and a demo" at their lab. They also wanted $
60 to $90 apiece for each species sounds, including the ones he had DONATED
to them over the decades. So it was self published, while C of O
collaborated with the makers of the better-known product, putting many of
the same ideas into it.

Have a look at this truly remarkable bit of software, I bought it and
reviewed it for him and find it totally flawless, in fact I have and use the
Thayer's birds of north America, I also use Birders Diary World edition, if
any of you have this combination, you will find it does not work with each
other and Thayer's have many problems, go to their website and see the
complaints, me included.
