Hi All,

What a beautiful day on the eastside of Washington! I was in the Corfu Area this afternoon and had chukars calling (about 5:00 pm) on Saddle Mt. I was at the intersection of Corfu Rd and Lower Crab Creek Rd. Also along the creek there was about 50 sandhill cranes that watched as I comically chased two cows out of the Refuge.

About two - Three miles east of there in the fields Phil Michel floods there were about 17,000 sandhill cranes and it was the best look at such a large group of cranes since I have lived here.

At County Line Ponds on Hwy 26 I had 15,000 Canada geese, 15 American avocet and 28 black-necked stilt.

To top the evening I had 6 golden-crowned kinglets on e. 8th St in Othello.

I forgot while walking on the Refuge I jumped a fledgling horned lark. It looked so strange as it still had that fat body no tail and weak flight.
