It looks like a Silver Pheasant, which would have most likely escaped from a collection, (where else it could have come from is beyond me). Anyway, thats what it looks like to me.

This afternoon my kids spotted an unusual bird and called me to come take a look. I can't tell you what it is, but my guess is that it is an escaped exotic of some kind. It was pecking along on the ground, reminding me of a large rooster, then it suddenly flew up into a nearby tree. It perched there for a while, then disappeared. We've posted photos at the URL below.
