Thanks Dan, this is the wonderful thing about birding! You see, one person
sees it as a Juvenile with all its credentials, someone else sees it as a
female adult. I believe it maybe a House sparrow but I have never seen the
yellow under the bill like this before. it is strange that most field guides
do not show this because it is a dead give-away!

The closest Sibley comes to this is in the adult non-breeding, but even
then, there is a black breast for which this does not have!!

Looks like an adult female House Sparrow to me. The broad stripe extending
back from the eye is a dead giveaway. That plus the other field
marks....plain grey breast, brown back with a few streaks, etc.

Ok you lot! What the heck is this bird? I have put it about and I get a
Juvenile House sparrow, but I have never seen a juvenile like this one
before! It has yellow under the beak and its breast is un-streaked, its
mantle is gray... I can not find this in any field guides all though
Sibley's is the closest.
