Tweeters,
Two GREAT BLUE HERONS were at the edge of the water, one at the east side of the goose-exclusion area and one well to the west. These are the first at the river that I've seen since December 1.

Correction: I noted on 3/31/2004 that the Hooded Merganser female was the first of that species I'd seen here at the river. I was wrong: I also saw a female on 12/1/2003, which WAS the first I'd seen here.

Birds seen during this scan include the following:
Canada Goose
Mallard (4; all males)
Bufflehead (4; one pair and two additional females)
Double-crested Cormorant (5)
Great Blue Heron (2)
Osprey (2; one on top of the east power tower and one well below on a crossbar // calling several times)
Red-tailed Hawk (close to top of power tower directly west, next to SR 599; could be one of the Delridge birds)
Mew Gull (8)
Glaucous-winged Gull (4)
Rock Pigeon (11)
American Crow (12; at a minimum // lots of movement)
Black-capped Chickadee (2)
European Starling (14)
Song Sparrow
White-crowned Sparrow (3; 2 heard across the rive and one flyby)
Red-winged Blackbird (2; both males)
House Finch (2; local pair most likely)
House Sparrow (2)

May all your birds be identified,
