I've been seeing Red-necked Grebes at my usual spots on south Lake Washington
for the last couple weeks - Andrew's Bay at Seward Park, Lakewood Marina and
Martha Washington Park. This is a first. I see them on salt water during the
winter, but have never seen them at these fresh water locations. What gives?

Also today: Common Loons at Andrews Bay and Martha Washington; the first
swallows, Barn and VG, at Lakewood Marina; a female Hoody at Lakewood Marina and a
fab pair of Red-breasted Mergansers at Andrews Bay, another location first
for me.

Wowsa!
