Hi Tweeters,

Last night I saw my first Cinnamon Teal at Boeing
Pond. Must be passing through as this the first time
I have ever seen one here. Also a Eurasian Wigeon
with the American Wigeon. Again I think passing
through becuase the regular crowd of wigeon are
Eurasion-less. Beautiful bird, the red color on the
head was more rich than some I have seen. I also saw
what I am pretty sure is a Lesser Yellowlegs. The
bill looked really short to be a Greater. Recently I
have noticed 2 Snipe around the ponds every time I
stop by. First Mallard ducklings for me last night as
well.

The ponds are off 212th in Kent. Turn north from the
KOA up 59th street to reach them at the bend in the
road.

I also saw an Osprey on a cell tower near the ponds
off of 63rd (I think that is the name, it is a main
thoroughfare and if you go round the bend from Boeing
Ponds and straight you are at this street at the
intersection, go right) The Osprey hangs out on the
cell tower near intersection with 208th (Alki Bakery
is in the complex). The Osprey had what suspiciously
looked like a very large goldfish in it's talons and
was chowing down. I didn't know Osprey raided Koi
ponds but I can't imagine what else this fish could be
it was so bright and shiny orange. The color was
uniform throughout the whole fish including the fins.
The head was already consumed.
