Hi Tweeters,
I have really enjoyed this topic! I used to use long
notebooks made by Portal but they are no longer
available so I have switched to Rites in the Rain. I
miss the old notebooks but have to move on. At least
the Rites in the Rain has strong paper so writing on
both sides is easy and does not affect the other side
of the paper.
I didn't start my life list in time to make it
easy....sigh....so I tried to muster it up last year
and after all the sorting through the old notebooks
and then tallying into a Washington checklist found I
missed some important ones. Then left it at that. I
don't think I am quite to 300 species. But at least I
know a lifer when I see one. Currently I try to keep
day lists with notes on behavior, etc. I am very
satisfied with this and don't feel a strong need to
finish the tallying process. Listing is a very
individual thing and I think everyone finds eventually
what works for them.
Happy listing!
