Hello Tweeters,
Thank you all for the wealth of information on listing and journaling. I really enjoyed reading every single reply. This is a very friendly and informative list. Yesterday afternoon, I was so inspired, I downloaded the WOS Washington list into Excel and took a hand written journal and colored in the birds (with a fill) that I have seen. If anyone wants the list to use themselves I am happy to share it. (It took quite a while to enter all the data). This is a start of a computerized life list but I am intigued with the Aviys program and it will be nice to compile several types of lists and be able to merge them. Fun stuff!!! I thoroughly enjoyed learning all the different ways a person can make lists. One thing my Excel list showed me was where I need to go out in the field and practice. I am very devoid of shorebirds. Not a single Tyrannidae or Vireonidae and very few Parulidae.

I watched a Channel 9 program last night on the migration of the whooping cranes. Missed the beginning but it showed people in ultra-lites teaching young birds to migrate from Wisconson (I think) to Florida. The program talked about the birds being endangered and these young ones were raised in captivity, so they had to learn to migrate. It was very interesting. Do any of you follow this study?
